Seattle Trip: The friends We Visited
We went to Seattle for the weekend to go to Maya's college graduation at UW. We met up with her mom, Naoko and boyfriend, Jake. The graduation was at UW Husky Stadium. Joe was very entertained by all the "people watching". The commencement speaker was Sec. Robert Gates.
Auntie Cat & Uncle Nate were up from San Diego. We got to go see some of the sights of Seattle with them.
Adventure in Portland
Joe and I drove up to Portland with Stephanie and Lulu for Memorial Weekend while Dan was doing some back country skiing with a friend. We got to see lots of friends in Portland as well as meeting up with Grammy, Joe's first train ride on the Portland Max, touring the Ota Tofu Factory, having a traditional Japanese Tempanyaki dinner at the Ota's home, visiting the highest peak in Portland where we could see Mt. Saint Helens and Mt. Hood, and visiting with the Shueys in Beaverton. What a fun weekend. Thanks Auntie Stephanie for all your help!
